WHO WE ARE  In het Nederlands 

ANNEKE BOUDEWIJN

Anneke was born and raised in the Netherlands. She studied history and English in the United Kingdom then travelled extensively before settling in Australia in 1980.

Anneke first joined SBS Sydney in 1984 and worked with the team for six years. During the same period she was a program producer for Sydney commercial radio. Anneke rejoined SBS in 1994.

EMILY WERLEMANN

Emily was born in Brazil of Dutch and Indonesian parents. She grew up in the Netherlands and migrated to Australia in her teens.

After completing her studies in Communications, Behavioural Sciences and Fine Arts at Sydney University, Emily returned to the Netherlands. While there, she worked in television as a documentary director. Emily joined SBS in 1994.

JOPIE WITZAND

Jopie has been with SBS Radio since 1995. She studied at the School of Journalism in Utrecht, the Netherlands and during that time specialised in court reporting.

Jopie has also written for regional and national newspapers in the Netherlands. After travelling through Europe, Egypt and Israel she moved to Australia in 1994.

JOSINE TONEN

Josine has been a part of the Melbourne SBS Radio Team since 2004. Her radio experience started in 1997 at the local radio station in Geelong. In 2000 Josine also started work as a qualified trainer & assessor in radio.

While living in The Netherlands, Josine was a French tutor and continued in this line of work after her immigration in 1978. She also started tutoring in her mother tongue as well as French. In the early 80’s Josine owned and managed her own international language school in Melbourne.

SIMON KUUT

Simon Kuut, born and raised in Amsterdam, The Netherlands started to work at SBS in 2004. He migrated to Australia with his Australian wife in 2003.

His background lies in Community Development and he has been working as a youth worker. These days he is working as a social worker besides his employment at SBS.

YVON DAVIS

Yvon first joined SBS Radio Melbourne in 1992. She was born in the Netherlands and migrated to Australia with her parents twice, first in 1958, back to the Netherlands in 1961 and migrated again in 1974.

Yvon worked mainly in retail, but due to her love of music and the medium of radio she established a Dutch language program at a local radio station in Ballarat. She hosted a Dutch program in Ballarat for 8 years before joining SBS Radio.
