Asian Boxing champ released from jail: 28.6.2004

U Tin Htoon, a Burmese boxer and holder of the 1963 Asia Boxing Championship was jailed in Burma for reading a newspaper produced by the opposition. His long term jail sentence was cut short only because he is now terminally ill. He has been jailed since 1993, he was released last Sunday 20 June 2004 after serving 11 years behind bars as a prisoner of conscience.
