Social networking sites on the internet, are no longer just for teenagers looking to make friends or for older people wanting to track down long lost lovers and school friends. A quick search within the Face Book site, reveals more than 400 special interest groups set up to support a particular tobacco product. MEDICARE CHANGES: 18.2.2009
Olena Zaporozhets says, that around half a million Australians are expected to drop their private health cover, after a last minute deal in the Senate allowed the federal government's changes to the Medicare levy surcharge to pass. Previously, individuals earning under 50-thousand-dollars a year and couples earning under 100-thousand-dollars avoided paying the surcharge. Once income reached that level, a one-per cent levy kicked in through tax, which could only be avoided by signing up for private health insurance. The changes mean individuals will now be able to earn up to 70-thousand-dollars and couples up to 140-dollars-thousand before they are required to pay the levy.(Producer Serhij Serbin)

International Women's Day: 18.2.2009
It's almost a hundred years since the first International Women's Day, and women around the world, including Australia and Ukraine, was marking this day. Conceived in 1910, and recognised by the United Nations in 1977, the origin of the day is actually American, although it started in Copenhagen. International Women's Day has a strong tradition in communist countries, but has also been picked up in the West. The day is being marked in Bunbury in Western Australia, where Women's Forum Australia is holding its Get Real forum, looking at issues surrounding female body image, the objectification of women, and premature sexualisation of girls in popular culture.
