Changes in the behaviour of a person with dementia are very common. This may place enormous stress on families and carers. It can be particularly upsetting when
someone previously gentle and loving behaves in a strange or aggressive way. There are many reasons why a person’s behaviour may be changing. Dementia is a result of changes that take place in the brain and affects the person’s memory, mood and behaviour. Sometimes the behaviour may be related to these changes taking place in the brain. Aussies are top sleepyheads: 7.5.2009
Australians are among the world's top sleepyheads. And we're not bad on the fang, too, spending an average 90 minutes a day eating.
A study of 18 of the 30 OECD member nations ranks Australia equal fourth with New Zealand and Turkey in the sleep stakes, behind the French, who snooze nine hours a day and eat for two, clearly outdistancing the siesta-loving Spaniards.
