Paolo Verri on Italy's 150th birthday: 21.10.2009
The 150th anniversary of Italy achieving its unity as a nation will be celebrated in 2011. The centre of celebrations will be Turin, the first Italian Capital. Tony Palumbo has discussed the planned celebrations with the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Paolo Verri, who is planning a trip to Oceania to publicize his plans for the event in this part of the world.

Alberto Baldin's "La Scheda" - Salvo D'Acquisto: 14.10.2009
September 1943, WW2, The scene is set in Rome countryside (Torre di Palidoro). Salvo, 22 years old, low-ranked in Carabinieri corps, confessed a crime never committed. He was executed. His heroic act saved the lives of 22 peasants herded by the Germans for the reprisal. Salvo's brother, Alessandro, gives his contribution to the story through his memories.

IMMUNITY LAW SCRAPPED: 9.10.2009
The Constitutional Court has scrapped the immunity law, also known in Italy as ‘Lodo Alfano’. The court’s decision overturns a law granting premier Berlusconi, president Napolitano and the presidents of both parliamentary chambers Schifano and Fini, immunity from prosecution while in office. Berlusconi’s lawyer and People of Freedom MP Gaetano Pecorella speaks with Luisa Perugini a few hours before the final decision.

Nobel Prize winner Rita Levi Montalcini turns 100: 22.4.2009
Born in Turin on April 22nd 1909, Italian scientist and Senator-for-Life Rita Levi Montalcini is 100 years old today. One of the most respected scientists in her field, in 1986 she received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for her discovery of Nerve Growth Factor. Marco Lucchi talked about her life history with University of Rome lecturer, Elio Limentani, who curated a biography of this Italian icon when she was presented with the honorary citizenship of Rome's Jewish Community.
