How subtitles are made!: 17.4.2009
Are you interested in German films and television? In Australia, it is no problem to watch foreign content at any time, all it takes is to turn on SBS television. In order to make foreign films available for audiences who do not speak the language the movie was shot in, subtitling is essential. Therefore, SBS has an entire department that translates films. Oliver Heuthe spoke with three staff of the German language department.

The Sorbs - Portrait of a minority: 24.2.2009
The Sorbs are a national minority in Germany. They live in the East of the country and experienced a cultural boom during 2008. Not only did the ancient Sorbian fairytale “Krabat” make it into the cinemas, but the new head of government of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich, happens to be a Sorb himself. To find out more, Oliver Heuthe interviewed Anne Holzschuh, who grew up in Lusatia, the home region of the Sorbs.
