Plusieurs décennies d'existence déjà!. Ce cirque , était unique en Australie quand il a commencé- pas d'animaux , pas trop de spécialisation, beaucoup d'entrain , d'humour allant jusqu'à la dérision et satire politique, des artistes accrobates, musiciens , mimes, et techniciens. La polyvalence était de rigueur.
On dit que Circus OZ a été l'inspiration de Cirque du Soleil.
Le public a suivi dès le début et suit encore.
D'ailleurs c'est le public qui a créé cette expo , des photos cultes sur plusieurs années , en hommage à ceux qui les font rire et les émerveille depuis si longtemps.

Thank you to the marvellous Renaissance artists who created magic at the opening of the Melbourne International Festival.
There were thousands of people sitting or lying on the grass looking at the heavens and transfixed by the glorious sounds and lights .
It is not hard to see why they are such popular artists and why they travelled all around the world.
As Gilles Rhodes, one of the co-founders explained , the team is 18 strong.
A small group for such a wondrously large show.
The bell ringers and the costumes bring a glimpse of Medieval and Renaissance street entertainment.
The language of music , laughter and lights is universal .
The Melbourne public loved it.

Helmut Lotti,the Belgian singer is about to start a tour of Australia. He sings in quite a number of languages. His first album was released in 1990.. He has been described as “The New Elvis “ Helmut Lotti also does volunteer work for UNICEF.

Gypsy Snyder is the choreographer for the Canadian group 7 Doigts de la main (7 fingers ) touring Australia with their show Traces.
They have already performed in a number of cities in Australia and are now in Melbourne presenting the show at the Comedy Theatre until the 28th August.
The group was last here in 2006 for the Commonwealth Games.

Born in Algeria, raised in France, Rachid Taha grew up listening to North African folk and European pop; and when he heard the Sex Pistols, he took all three traditions and created one furious sound. His politically minded songs transcend genre, with beats and powerful rock melodies using Arabic instrumentation. Rachid Taha is in Australia to present his new album, Bonjour.

Melanie Horsnell: 12.5.2009
Interview in English: Xavier Bichon
Melanie Horsnell is a Sydney-based singer who is regarded as one driving forces behind Sydney’s emerging “NuFolk”movement. Melanie had a residency at the Excelsior Hotel in Glebe from 2000 to 2004 before starting to do European tours. Melanie even did a crash course in French to record the French version of her catchy tune “I Just Want Some Love” which helped The Adventures Of… wind up as feature album on a national radio in France in 2005.
