Burmese Association of WA: 11.7.2007
Denzil D'Vauz, President of Burmese Association of Western Australia (BAWA) talks about the history, aims, objectives and future of the Burmese Association. BAWA has a membership of over 600 members and 11 affiliated organisations. According to Denzil, there are about 30,000 Burmese families in Perth. The Federal government accepted 900 refugees from the Thai-Burma border in 2006 and plans to accept a further 1500 in 2007.
