The Productivity Commission says Australians are addicted to gambling and it says tough action is needed to wean people away from poker machines in particular. The Commission has released its draft report into gambling, proposing strong new harm minimisation measures.The report shows Australians spend about 18-billion dollars a year on gambling, which includes 12-billion dollars a year on poker machines alone...

AUSTRALIA's unemployment rate has remained unchanged at 5.8 percent. The Bureau of Statistics says the July figure is despite the loss of 16-thousand full-time jobs.
