SBS STUDIO GUEST - Playwright NATALYA MILLS: 20.11.2009
SBS Russian program is working on a radio play " Old Biddies" based on the work of Adelaide Russian playwright Natalya Mills. Last weekend Natalya traveled to Melbourne to meet actors of Chekhov Drama Studio under the direction of Dmitry Pronin and was very impressed with their sparkle and enthusiasm. Natalya shared her thoughts about her work with Sima Tsyskin and Alex Menglet who will be involves in the future production

INTERVIEW WITH VICTOR SHENDEROVICH PART 2.: 20.11.2009
Victor Shenderovich is a popular and controversial Russian satirist, writer and scriptwriter and Radio and TV personality. He won his wide popularity as a scriptwriter of popular political puppet show Kukly (Puppets) which was aired from 1994 to 2002. Shenderovich ran a weekly program "Processed Cheese" on the Echo of Moscow radio station and has a segment "All free" at Radio Liberty. He is also known as outspoken critic of Vladimir Putin's and Russian government. In part 2 of the interview Victor talks about his perceptions of Russia today. He will tour Melbourne and Sydney in November and the public in anxiously waiting to meet him.

INTERVIEW WITH MISHA DUMNOV: 25.10.2009
This project explores the Holocaust and genocide through he stories of its survivors and creators. Two plays, "The trial of God" by Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel and "The Trial of Adolf Eichmann" by former Shadow Minister Neil Cole, are performed in Melbourne by a diverse group of Jews and non-Jews from Germany, Australia, Russia, Israel, Lithuania and the former Yugoslavia. In the play " The trial of God" music plays a major role. Violinist and composer Misha Dumnov explains the symbolic significance of the Purim celebration in Auschwitz, which represents a play within the play and talks about the joy of working with his friends Nella Rivkovich and James Adler and the German director Wolf Heidecker .

Russian Folk Group RUSICHI: 22.10.2009
Colourful group RUSICHI is Western Australia's premier Russian folk group, with a repertoire that spans centuries of traditional Russian, Ukrainian and gypsy song and dance. It presents an authentic taste of traditional Russia, a mix of songs and dances usually presented at Russian folk festivals. Also we are talking to the youngest members of this folk group who are keen to learn Russian culture, language and music in a rehearsal's creative and cheerful setting.

INTERVIEW WITH ELENA KATS-CHERNIN: 5.10.2009
Elena Kats–Chernin is one of the most prominent Australian composers. She has studied music in Moscow, Sydney and Hanover and received numerous prestigious music awards and prizes. Her music featured at the opening ceremonies of the 2000 Olympic Games and the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Her latest work is commissioned by Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the World Premiere will be conducted by Paul Daniel. Elena speaks about the inspiration driven her to compose "a missing work of Astor Piazzolla" which is titled "Re-Collecting AstOroids".

THE MAGNIFICENT DOLLS OF GALINA KELVINA: 19.9.2009
Galina Kelvina started to make dolls dressed in colourful Russian costumes by pure chance when she was invited to her daughter's school fete. Her hobby developed into real craft and attracts a lot of interest at the Russian community exhibitions and Australian alike. She has won a number of craft awards and the prestigious First prize of Australian Doll makers Association.

INTERVIEW WITH NICA TEACHER LUDMILA DRUZHINA: 13.9.2009
National Institute of Circus Arts students, Julian Aldag and Billie Wilson‐Coffey are the first
Australians to be invited to perform in the 4th World Festival of Circus Art, in Moscow from 15 to 20
September. Circus performers from around the world will be attending the festival, each vying for a medal at the prestigious event. The festival is one of the biggest international circus competitions. NICA teacher and trainer Ludmila Druzhina talks about talented Australian students, her circus performing career and prospects of international success for young performers.
