Festival de Cinema Brasileiro de Sydney foi um sucesso: 31.10.2009
A primeira edição do festival lotou o cinema em Sydney e mostrou que a iniciativa deverá continuar nos próximos anos, diz Flávia Fontes, uma das diretoras do festival.
Beatriz Wagner da Rádio SBS esteve na abertura do festival e conversou com o Cônsul-Geral do Brasil em Sydney, o embaixador Kywal de Oliveira, que aproveitou e fez um relato da Segundo Encontro dos Brasileiros na Diáspora, que aconteceu agora em outubro no Rio de Janeiro.
Paulo Weinberger, ativista cultural brasileiro em Sydney, considera muito boa a seleção dos filmes para este festival inaugural.

Primeiro Festival de Cinema Brasileiro em Sydney: 15.10.2009
Flávia Fontes e Graziela Guardino, organizadoras do primeira edição do Festival de Cinema Brasileiro de Sydney, de 26 a 29 de outubro, conversam nos estúdios da Rádio SBS com Beatriz Wagner sobre como surgiu a idéia do festival.
Serão quatro dias e quatro filmes: Signo da Cidade, Pindorama, Nome Próprio e o filme que abre o festival, na estréia mundial de Alucinados.
Flávia e Graziela contam como se conheceram quando crianças em São Paulo, na mesma escola, e muitos anos depois voltaram a se encontrar, por acaso, em Sydney, e de como se uniram para trazer pela primeira vez à Austrália um festival de cinema do Brasil.
