A historic building used by sugar cane cutters in far-north QUEENSLAND is being shipped to FINLAND where it will used to commemorate the thousands of FINNISH workers who once migrated to the state. Cane barracks were used by migrant workers from all over EUROPE who came to the region in the early Twentieth century. Gabriella Zahoran reports

Decades earlier, he had been chosen to represent Australia as a canoeist in the Rome Olympics in 1960 but says he could not raise the £600 required to fund the trip." (The Age) He has worked as a radio operator and is an award winning documentary filmmaker now, promoting school sport in Victoria. He was a Canoe World Champion in 2005 and also a 1956 Hungarian FeedomFighter. He was invited to SBS Studios to talk about his life by Gabriella Zahoran.
