INTERVIEW WITH NADIA CHERKASSOVA: 7.9.2009
Nadia is a young and talented operetta soloist. From the early age she dreamed of singing and dancing on stage like the heroines of classic Soviet musical movies. Operetta attracted her as a synthetic art form where actors have to give a multifaceted performance. Her teachers at acting and singing college included the star of Soviet operetta Tatiana Shmyga. Before immigrating to Australia she worked at the world famous Moscow Operetta Theater. Unfortunately in Australia the great talent of Nadia did not get the professional recognition she deserves. However she is loved and warmly received at every concert by the Russian community.
