On the 17th of October academics Catherine Dewhirst, Claire Kennedy and Francesco Ricatti respectively from University of Southern Queensland, Griffith University and University of Sunshine Coast organized a symposium to reflect on 150 years of Italians in Queensland's history. Futurist Evening in Sydney: 21.10.2009
100 years ago, writer Filippo Tommaso Marinetti launched the Futurism movement in his Manifesto, which he published for the first time in 1909 in La gazzetta dell'Emilia, an article then reproduced in the French daily newspaper Le Figaro a few days later. Theatre company CarbonComedy, led by Bianca Bonino, celebrates the anniversary presenting the show 'Futurist Evening' in Sydney. Max Civili asks Bianca what the show is about.

Paolo Verri on Italy's 150th birthday: 16.10.2009
The 150th anniversary of Italy achieving its unity as a nation will be celebrated in 2011. The centre of celebrations will be Turin, the first Italian Capital. Tony Palumbo has discussed the planned celebrations with the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Paolo Verri, who is planning a trip to Oceania to publicize his plans for the event in this part of the world.

Four medals for Clinton!: 19.10.2009
Down Syndrome Australian swimmer Clinton Stanley won four medals at the World Masters Games held in Sydney between 10 and 18 October. Clinton achieved three gold medals (800m and 400m freestyle, 200m butterfly) and one silver (200m freestyle).
The Australian swimmer and his mum Sue Stanley met with Max at the Aquatic Center, after the races.

Cagliari swimmers in Sydney: 19.10.2009
Sydney has recently hosted the World Masters Games. Open to people of all abilities and most ages, the World Masters Games are the world's largest multi-sport event attracting up to three times more competitors than the Olympic Games. Max caught up with Cagliari-based swimmers Rossana Pintus, Cinzia Mocci, Corrado Sorrentino, Alice Gilli and Cristina Cesaraccio, all portrayed in the photo and all competing at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Center.

Alberto Baldin's "La Scheda" - Salvo D'Acquisto: 25.9.2009
September 1943, WW2, The scene is set in Rome countryside (Torre di Palidoro). Salvo, 22 years old, low-ranked in Carabinieri corps, confessed a crime never committed. He was executed. His heroic act saved the lives of 22 peasants herded by the Germans for the reprisal. Salvo's brother, Alessandro, gives his contribution to the story through his memories.

IMMUNITY LAW SCRAPPED: 9.10.2009
The Constitutional Court has scrapped the immunity law, also known in Italy as ‘Lodo Alfano’. The court’s decision overturns a law granting premier Berlusconi, president Napolitano and the presidents of both parliamentary chambers Schifano and Fini, immunity from prosecution while in office. Peter Paul Buhne left Naples some 30 years ago with the goal of
re-discovering himself. After a long spiritual journey, he founded a band called 'Fratelli d’Italia'(F.D.I.).
Recently F.D.I. have produced ‘Il Bosco dell’Anima’, their most
ambitious project to date, that features original music set to poems by prominent Italian writer and poet Cristiana Maria Sebastiani. Peter Paul met with Max Civili at SBS and together they went back over the FDI’s history.
