MIKE FINCH , DIRECTOR OF CIRCUS OZ THE PUBLIC AS THE CHRONICLER AND PHOTOGRAPHER OF THIS ICONIC GROUP. The present exhibition is at the photo shop MICHAEL'S until the 1st of November.

ARLETTE van Boven The Australian Ballet School The End of the Year Concert. The Australian Ballet School attempts works , both choreagraphed especially or well established ones at the end of each year. The offering is remarkable from the purest classical works of the repertoires to the avant-garde opus of great international artists. Arlette van Boven was a classical dancer who changed direction and became a contemporary dancer , soloist and choreographer. Born in Belgium , having lived in London and now a resident of Amsterdam, she has been invited by the ABS to stage Jiri Kilian's work. It is an ambitious program featuring extracts of four of his well known and devilishly demanding works. The students are well up to it according to Arlette van Boven . We can expect the most dazling display of both technique , energy and inspiration for the end of the year concert. Arlette Van Boven, from the Australian Ballet School speaks of the works of Jiri Kilian and is actually staging and directing the ABS performances for the end of the year. Gilles RhodesTranse Express: 12.10.2009
TRANSE EXPRESS Thank you to the marvellous Renaissance artists who created magic at the opening of the Melbourne International Festival. There were thousands of people sitting or lying on the grass looking at the heavens and transfixed by the glorious sounds and lights . It is not hard to see why they are such popular artists and why they travelled all around the world. As Gilles Rhodes, one of the co-founders explained , the team is 18 strong. A small group for such a wondrously large show. The bell ringers and the costumes bring a glimpse of Medieval and Renaissance street entertainment. The language of music , laughter and lights is universal . The Melbourne public loved it. MUSIC Habillage radiophonique RFI Music After in Paris After in Paris-AX's Piano Duo & Vocal

Erin Manning Brian Massumi Final: 2.10.2009
ERIN MANNING AND BRIAN MASSUMI Interview en français : Danièle Kemp How do you marry Philosophy, Design and dance? I was curious to find out. Both Erin and Brian are extraordinary lateral thinkers . If one were to concentrate on the precise moment when thought projects on the coming action , one would find oneself in anticipation and preparation of movement. Add to this delicate equation , a solid philosophical training , an experience in fashion design and a training as a dancer and you get an unusual combination of skills and perceptions. In fact in the attempts at explaining the simultaneity between the thought of , the anticipation and the movement itself , we are going around the concept of no less than relativity. The complexity of words is lightened however by the beauty of the workshop , where people touch beautiful pieces of material , dress themselves in them , change their look, other people's perception of them and interact with the material and other people .
