The statue
A statue, called "La Famiglia" and dedicated to the Italian Community in Australia at large, has been unveiled on August 15 at the intersection of Ramsay Rd and Fairlight St, in the Sydney "little Italy" suburb of Five Dock. Joe Di Giacomo, a native of the Italian region of Lucania, was instrumental in the success of the initiative. Luisa Perugini spoke to him at the end of a crowded unveiling ceremony.
