Mal Brough Interview
The Federal Government has sent in the first members of a taskforce to tackle the child abuse crisis in Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory.
Federal Police and military police have been despatched to restore law and order. However, many community leaders have concerns about the move. Reports from community leaders say that many women and children are afraid of the implications of sending police and the military into their communities.
Lola Forester discusses these concerns with Minister for Indigenous Affairs, Mal Brough. Mr Brough explains the Governments initial plans once members of the taskforce arrive in the communities.
