Angelina Molluso, Sandy Rogulic and nine-year old Clairabelle Eden Latella reflect on ‘Leona’s Republic’, the fundraising dinner which raised over $50,000 for Leona Zajsek. Born of the SBS Radio program ‘Umrezeni’, the event was held at George Calombaris’ restaurant, the Hellenic Republic, on Monday 5th October 2009. His Excellency, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in Australia and New Zealand, Mr Vincencije Biuk joined the Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Melbourne, Mr Antun Babic, and a host of big Australian names including George Calombaris, Anthony Koutoufides, Mick Gatto, model Melanie Jade and actor John Barresi, to help raise funds towards the cost of Leona’s medical treatment.
