The Kresy-Siberia Virtual Museum has launched worldwide on Thursday 17 September 2009 marking the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union's invasion of Poland.
The site is dedicated to the remembrance, research and recognition of Polish citizens of all faiths and ethnicities who were deported, enslaved or killed by the Soviet regime during WW2.
Thousands of photographs, documents and memoirs as well as literary references, media resources and research tools are provided, and make captivating reading.
The Kresy-Siberia Foundation, creator of the online virtual museum, is dedicated to the promotion of the Kresy regions (pre-WW2 eastern borderland) of Poland, an often overlooked part of WW2 history, and is working towards the provision of educative modules in schools, seminars, conferences and traveling exhibitions.
The foundation is a charitable group and is supported by fundraising from interested communities, businesses, organisations and individuals.
The website is at: www.Kresy-Siberia.org
